It's been a long time since we released any news about HTC. We decided to close our store and make the source code for our products available under GPL license. Originally the HTC store was opened to provide financing for future projects, but sales were not sufficient so we decided to close the store and look for other sources of income. The exciting news is that we are going to use all the resources allocated to the store's operation for R&D. We can officially say that our decision was not influenced by the presidential elections, and we are proud to say that none of our products were used for counting votes. We released the code base used in our products to help our current users. Please visit the download page for more details. All our products are based on microprocessors from Microchip. All source codes are based on assembly with some minor exceptions. We need to ask you to be forgiving of our spelling errors in the source code. For some strange reason, I have always preferred to read good technical books instead of learning how to spell. My most famous spelling error was when I sent an email to my previous boss's wife. She was working in accounting and my email was a polite thank you note, or so I thought, that included "Thanks for the massage", innocent sentence. She was very understanding when she pointed out (laughing) that I never got a massage from her but a simple message. And believe me, ever since then I am very careful when using the word message. For those who do not know, GPL stands for General Public License, which is used to distribute free software. If you were like me six months ago (I did not know about GPL and Linux) then you should stop reading this news and run to computer store and get yourself a taste of Linux (or download it for free (about 650Mb)), you are missing a whole world of possibilities. Please stay tuned for our next generation of products.
Sincerely,
Vardan Antonyan
President and CEO
